How to Harness The Power Of The "Aha" Moment

Think about the last time you experienced a "Eureka" moment.

Likely, you saw something in a new way. You realized that this new understanding would have a tangible impact on your life.

Here are a few "Aha" moments I've had and how they affected my life:

  • I realized that making disciples was less about my ability to teach and more about helping people connect with what God had already put in their hearts.
    • The weight of another person's spiritual growth was lifted from my shoulders, and I was more easily able to have conversations about decisions, relationships, or any number of issues without feeling like I needed to make something happen or come up with the right answers.
  • I saw that not only the person being coached's decisions, and their consequences, but mine as well were choices to be made.

Working Genius & Coaching [Intro]

I've been following Patrick Lencioni for years so when he came out with the Working Genius assessment in 2020 and said it was his "magnum opus", I paid attention. (If you don't know of him he literally wrote the book - actually a series of books - on business leadership and teamwork. His books have changed my life and the lives of many!

His newest work, Working Genius, is an assessment tool that helps people identify their God-given design. As people learn what makes them tick they can find their best placement on any team. A wise leader has people placed where they fit best and do what they love. 

Working Genius actually breaks down the process of any project into 6 categories. Lencioni says, "Every job is a 6 letter job." And then the premise of Working Genius is that each person has two letters that are their "genius", defined as something they love to do and do easily and without effort. Why I Paid April $50 For Just One Question!

Ready for a good story?

Some of you know I recently finished a book that is not yet published (more on that later) but it took me over TEN years to write it!

During that time my husband and I got a redirect from the Lord and moved to Lancaster, PA, where we are both on staff at Worship Center. We love it here. But, in order to be full-time there, I needed to hire people to do what I was doing at Bridges, which turned out fabulously! Sarah Fulton now manages the Coaching Culture branch, April Lonneville oversees the Destiny by Design side, and Michelle Pavasars facilitates the Next Level Coach Training(NXL).

During the very first NXL cohort, I volunteered to be coached by our Mentor Coach, Walt Hastings, while the class observed.
