When I first discovered coaching it was a game-changer for my leadership.

People would come to me sharing their struggles and expecting me to provide solutions.  Sometimes it worked, and I could share something of value, but even when that happened, unknowingly, I taught them to come to me rather than to become problem solvers on their own. Sometimes I didn't know what to tell them and felt like a failure, or even worse, I suggested something, it didn't work, and they blamed me for their lack of progress.

That's when I discovered coaching. I found I was "telling " way too much, and not encouraging people to own their own lives - to choose their preferred outcomes, recognize their possible options, and choose potential action steps.

When I started actively listening and asking empowering questions about goals and choices, I felt a release from the pressure to provide answers, and they found the traction they needed! 

This simple, but uncommon, paradigm shift changed everything and leveled up my effectiveness as a leader.

Mark your calendars

The three all-cohort online meetings are one of the highlights of the course! Meet your fellow participants and process coaching principles together.

Group Classes will be hosted on Zoom*, and scheduled dates are shown above.

Kickoff meeting

Meet your cohort of up to 7 fellow coach trainees and get a personal introduction to coaching.

Midpoint gathering

This is a pivotal class on your journey toward partnering with those you lead. This class marks the transition from learning about coaching to setting up your first coaching sessions. 

Final Celebration

This finish-line class marks the capstone of your coach training journey as we acknowledge your Leadership Coach Certification. Learn final lessons to lock in your coaching knowledge and plan action steps to apply these lessons to your work and personal life.

*Most often, classmates join from distances that would prohibit in-person gathering. If ever a cohort included participants who were all from the same location, and an in-person gathering would be arranged. 

 

Key Components 

Peer partner

It can be beneficial to go through the Leadership Coaching Certification with someone in your organization. There can be benefits to learning from someone in another organization as well. It is your call. 

Peer Partner Meetings

Along with the 3 all-cohort group classes, you'll meet bi-weekly with Cindy and your peer partner. These meetings will be scheduled during the kick-off class.

Personal Planner Board Coaching Sessions

Two personal coaching sessions will be arranged as you set up your unique Bridges Planner Broad.

Facilitator

Cindy will facilitate all group classes, the peer partner connections, and the personal coaching sessions for the Leadership Coaching Certification cohort.

In addition to the peer meetings, there will be 2 personal planner board coaching sessions.

The course was designed with adult learning principles in mind. Along with the teaching videos and text reading, there are guided personal reflections, projects, and online discussions to enhance practical application.
